Employment Opportunities

 

KVPAC hires qualified applicants in a variety of capacities. Positions range from administrative staff to instructors with experience in all visual arts media, theatre, drama, choreography and voice.

Classes run year round during the day, after school, on Saturdays, and on school holidays. Classes also run during the KISD Spring Break, Winter Break and Summer Break schedules.

KVPAC’s Books Alive! Hiring Visual and Performing Artists for 2012-2013
 
By popular demand, Katy Visual & Performing Arts Center’s (KVPAC) professional theatre touring program Books Alive! is extending its 2012-2013 season. The 2012-2013 season will be the biggest season in the program’s eight-year history. Books Alive! takes a popular children’s book and transforms it into a professional musical adaptation designed to promote literacy and foster a love of the arts. The program is granted by Texas Commission on the Arts and Houston Arts Alliance.
 
Books Alive! is looking for professionals dedicated to bringing the magic of theatre alive.
Designers, actors, choreographers, sound technicians and directors should send a letter of interest and resume to Kristin Miller, KVPAC Outreach Director.

Performing Arts Teachers/ Directors to work in our Summer Program 2012
Various teaching, technical and directing positions available for Summer 2012 classes/productions in the Theatre Department. Looking for enthusiastic qualified individuals with theatre training and experience to teach acting, technical and stage management classes, and direct or assist with production classes. Pay rate commensurate with experience. Please email your resume and a letter of interest to:

Visual Arts Teachers to work in our Summer Program 2012
Various teaching positions available for Spring 2012 classes in the Art Department. Looking for enthusiastic qualified individuals with Art training and experience to teach art classes. Pre-K Teachers to work in the PreK@KVPAC for the 2012/2013 School Year
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:
 

  • You must be 18 years old
  • 8 hours of Pre-service Orientation Training
  • A Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience in specialty field) is required for Specialty Teachers.
  • CPR Infant, Child & Adult Certified
  • Pediatric First Aid Certified
  • 15 hours of child development training per year
  • Background Checks and FBI Fingerprints

PreK Academic Curriculum Teache

Persons hired to teach Circle Time and Academic Curriculum (language arts, math and science). Other duties include but are not limited to assisting specialty instructors with class projects, observing children on playgrounds, assisting  children in the restroom, and cleaning up child-created mess/vacuuming. Please email your resume and a letter of interest to:  Elizabeth Farnsworth - de los Santos, PreK Director
