In the Student Spotlight: Cole
Cole was born in Houston and like most young boys his age; he enjoys a variety of extracurricular activities when not in school. His favorites are theatre and football. He found KVPAC through a friend and joined in the winter of 2006. Cole became a COMPANY member two years ago. "I thought KVPAC was cool, big and nice," he recalls. "Now it has even expanded!"
Cole's first class at KVPAC was the production class Pinocchio in which he played the role of Geppetto. His favorite classes at KVPAC to date have been High School Musical 2 and Mulan Jr. "That was the best day ever when I got the role of Shang in Mulan Jr.," he said. "I was very proud to be part of that COMPANY show."
After his first time on stage, Cole knew he wanted to be in more plays at KVPAC. His parents have been very supportive with his participation in numerous productions such as Rudolph, Willy Wonka Jr., Seussical Jr., School Daze, Alice in Wonderland, Beauty and the Beast, High School Musical 2, and School House Rock LIVE! Cole has also performed outside of KVPAC at his junior high school. He played in The Terezin Promise and Beauty and the Beast, in which he portrayed the charismatic Lumiere.
Although Cole aspires to be in a HUGE professional show someday when he gets older, for now he is satisfied with his current fill of theatre and the enjoyment he has playing roles and the challenge of memorizing lines. On his down time, Cole excels in basketball, swimming and track. He and his younger brother have also accompanied their parents on vacations to New York and on a Hawaiian cruise. Cole is an "A" student and an active member at his church.
